On Saturday, Lakisha James and I had the honor and privilege of attending the annual fund raising event for the Nicholas House Inc., held at the Marriott Marquis downtown Atlanta. The Theme of the evening was “A Night to Remember.” It in fact, It was.
The evening began with a free casino. Every one was given $500 in chips which allowed you to play all of the games. There was poker, black jack, roulette and more. There was a trio band that performed while we played the games. The music was incredible. I have never been much for casino games, but I enjoyed it, especially since the money wasn’t mine.
At 8:00pm, we were invited into the ballroom, where the rest of the festivities would go on. The room was amazing. The color theme was black and red. Tables were assigned to all. We were honored with sitting at the VIP table.
The evening was grand with Host, Karyn Greer. There were virtual messages from actors, Hill Harper, Lynn Whitfield and Cheryl Lee Ralph. We enjoyed the music of Violinist, Ken Ford and Gritz and Jelly Butter. This was an amazing night for an amazing organization. Here is some information about the Nicholas House.
